This layout doesn't work well for anything. As an index it looked awkward with the links in the menu block or outside in the content area. Words did not wrap properly around the menu if the page was full of text. The reason I put the menu on the right was because usability experts said it was better to have it next to the scroll bar. Real users complained about the location. Visually, it's a box hanging out in the middle of space. Ugh.
The graphics and colors were too sparse. Bad. Baaaad. Even the cuteness of the sealion can not save such a thing because he is not in a sealion-friendly environment. Learn from this bad example.
The sitemap I made was also too bulky to be useful. However, it demonstrates how a website should be organized, with only a few choices in the beginning and nothing that cannot be reached within three clicks.
First, the color charts wouldn't work in this layout so they got their own that worked well. That's it unless you want to count getting rid of the frames in the links section.
